Then we hiked up to this weird place that seemed like a different planet...
And at the end of the hike, this is what we saw.
I was scared. But I wanted to document how close I was to the edge...

And this is a castle where Grace O'Malley (the Pirate Queen, and my new hero) lived.

The BVM (Blessed Virgin Mary) is everywhere in Ireland, and I love her. I'm not Catholic, but I am Episcopalian (Catholic-lite) so I especially love her...

Great photos. I especially like the photos from your hike-- what an interesting place, do you know the name of it? All those rocks are crazy. That cove, or whatever it was, where you were standing on the edge, is just gorgeous. I wonder if it is swimmer friendly. I think I need to go to Ireland, stat.
The hike and the cliffs and the cove are all on Inishmore, the largest Aran Island. I really wish I had brought my bathing suit that day, but when we left Galway on the ferry it was effing freezing so I had no clue that it would be that nice and warm on the islands. I want to go again. Again!
